Welcome to Brazil

Wide Vision was opened more than 20 years ago and besides teaching English and Spanish we have always enjoyed teaching our foreign guests Portuguese and introducing them our rich culture. We will show you the incredible Brazilian music and literature, our people and society, the food and the special features of Brazil's five regions.
Many people from various countries have studied Portuguese at Wide Vision for different purposes, some stopped by for a short while when they were taking internships or participated in exchanges, others decided to stay in Teresópolis for good. All of them were united in their strong interest in Brazil, our culture, and our language. Within a short time our students are able to communicate in speech and writing. Our tuition is based on functions, situations and pairwork to get our students to always use their language skills.
Of course, we provide our students with the necessary grammar to enable them to speak, read and write. We also speak Spanish and English at Wide Vision - but be sure, soon you will only talk to us in Portuguese!
WE´RE PREPARED TO WORK WITH GROUPS OF DIFFERENT PEOPLE FROM TEEN-AGERS TO GROWN-UPS STUDENTS, TOURISTS, RESEARCHERS OR BUSINESS.

city paraty

From a trading post to national monument The foundation date for Paraty differs depending on the historian. Some say that in 1540/1560 there was already a small settlement devoted to Sao Roque in the Hill of Vila Velha (today called Morro do Forte); others mention 1597, when Martim Correa de Sá sets up an expedition against the Guaiana Indians in the Valley of Paraiba; others say 1600, when there was a settlement of "paulistas" from the "Capitania" of Sao Vale do Paraíba; Vicente ("Capitania", district - designation of the first administrative divisions of Brazil , a hereditary system which originated the settlements to explore the New Land and settle the people );

Rio das Ostras - Rio de Janeiro

Rio das ostras is A city located less than 30 km from  city Macaé and about 165 km from Rio de Janeiro. Rio das Ostras has just above 105 000 inhabitants and is a strongly growing city. A place of exuberant nature, sun and beaches. Here you can find 15 beaches and can choose between beaches with calm water for swimming or wilder with great waves for surfing. Rio das ostras is a bit cheaper than Buzios and with less tourists especially foreign tourists, so if you wish to meet Brazilian people this is a better option than Buzios. When people travel to Rio de Janeiro they usually visit Buzios or maybe Petropolis, but this is not a very common destination for many foreign tourists but a very charming city.

 What do they have and what can you do in Rio das Ostras?
